Hi, I'm Lauren!
I was born and raised in Santa Claus, Indiana. Growing up I didn't always know I wanted to be a hairstylist. I knew I wanted something that I could do the same thing every day, but be different as well. I wanted to be creatively passionate, while making people feel their best and confident in themselves. I wanted to connect with people on a deeper emotional level, and build relationships of friendship and trust. I then found my all those goals in the beauty industry! I started my career at The Salon Professional Academy in 2011, and have continued evolving into the hairstylist I am today! I have loved EVERY moment in this industry. There are always new techniques to learn, and styles/colors are constantly evolving!
I believe educating my clients about their hair has to be one of the most important things while in my chair. It can be as little as showing tips on how to use tools to create a specific look, to informing and explaining why I choose the exact formulation for their specific hair needs. I believe there is no "one-size-fits all", when it comes to colors or cuts. Every color and cut I do, is completely personalized and tailored to meet my clients' needs. If there is a desired look, and I believe it will not work for my client, I will be honest! A series of questions I ask before and at my appointments, will help me best choose the next step. (Some factors include; the health of the hair, and the way it will compliment face shapes and/or tones.) I will determine a specific "hair plan" goal, if multiple steps are necessary for the desired look. I will alter my plan of action to tailor desired goals, if I believe it will compromise the integrity of the hair! This is the time, where past hair history and honesty will be the best form of communication from my client. Never, do I want any of my clients to leave unhappy with a style/color that doesn't work for them!
In 2015, I married my best friend, Craig, and officially became the “farmers’ wife”, and along came the love for Oliver tractors! When Craig is in the fields, I keep myself... you could say productive. You’ll catch me playing with my fur-babies (Leroy and Zoey), sipping on some Oliver Soft Rose wine with my best friends on my back porch (my absolute favorite spot), hanging out with family, working out, or binge watching the million and ten TV shows I'm obsessed with. (OK, that may be an exaggeration, but I really like my shows)! When Craig isn't farming and the weather is nice, we are always out and about in our Jeep! We love to do Jeep runs, whether its just us, or with friends and family! Our favorite thing about the Jeep, is jamming out to our music and letting the wind blow through our hair (well mine anyhow, because he doesn’t have much), and typically ending our drives at the Dairy Barn! We both are avid ice cream lovers! I love going on adventures, whether its traveling to the beach, looking for Oliver tractors, Dairy Barn visits, or just being outside. The best part of my life, is I get to experience it all with the love of my life!
Quality time with me, while in my chair, is what I strive for. I never want an appointment to feel rushed, but I also don’t want it to feel like you’ve been sitting in my chair hours upon hours! I always want to make sure you are having a relaxing, but fun time while in my chair. If you haven’t been to The Local Lather, you’ll come to find that we are always having fun and there is never a dull moment in the salon! I schedule my appointments strategically, in order to give you the amount of time you need to feel relaxed and taken care of. I would love to get you scheduled for your appointment! I look forward to meeting you, call now or book online for your next hair experience!
